Ulumma Joseph, LCSW, a licensed Therapist based in Los Angeles

As a therapist and social worker, with over 15 years' experience, I have spent my career dedicated to the emotional and behavioral success of my clients. Over the span of my career, I have worked with schools, community-based agencies, foster youth and families, and major hospitals. Since 2012, I have worked in Kaiser Permanente’s Psychiatry Department and recently decided to open my doors to the public in my own private practice.

I have the privilege to work with people of all ages from small children to seniors, couples and families, various professions, communities, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, genders, and LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills working with a large variety of mental health issues including Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Work Stress, Life transitions, Relationship Issues, Grief and Loss, and Trauma.

I maintain a very integrative, strength-based, client-centered approach as I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. With this history of experience and training, I hold valuable and effective skills that I am able to apply to treat my clients from vastly diverse backgrounds.
